Cornel West is one of America's most provocative public intellectuals and Professor of Religion and African American Studies at Princeton University. West's writing, including the 1993 bestseller Race Matters, has changed the course of America's dialogue on race, justice, and democracy. His active public life, which includes cameos in The Matrix 2 and 3 and appearances (and arrests) at political rallies, keeps West in the eye of the American cultural storm.
