Nobel Prize-winning economist Joseph Stiglitz served as Chief Economist and Senior Vice President of the World Bank, then as Chairman of President Clinton's Council of Economic Advisors; he is currently Professor of Economics and Finance at Columbia University. Stiglitz's groundbreaking work, Globalization and Its Discontents, showed how misplaced faith in free-market ideology led to the global economic issues of today. His new book The Roaring 90's: A New History of the World's Most Prosperous Decade, continues the argument and casts a perceptive eye on US policies.
