Street Lit Panel Featuring Teri Woods, Shannon Holmes, and Solomon Jones - Moderated by Vanessa Morrision
Native Philadelphian and bestselling author, Teri Woods began selling hand-made copies of her first novel on the street and out of the trunk of her car. She started her own publishing company and successfully made True to the Game available to bookstores across the country. A sequel to the book is coming this fall.
Armed with only a GED and the desire to change his life, Shannon Holmes wrote his first book, B-More Careful, while still in prison. Now a major name in street fiction, he has published three additional novels including his latest, Dirty Game. He is currently writing a sequel to B-More Careful and developing his own publishing imprint.
Solomon Jones is the best-selling author of Ride or Die, Pipe Dream, The Bridge, and Keeping up with the Jones. A former columnist for Philadelphia Weekly, Jones has been published in Newsday, the Philadelphia Inquirer, Philadelphia magazine, and the Philadelphia Tribune. He teaches creative writing at Temple University and serves on the board of the Philadelphia Committee to End Homelessness. His latest novel is C.R.E.A.M.
