Adrian Tomine has acquired a cult-like following with his critically acclaimed comic book series Optic Nerve. His distinctive illustrations have graced the covers of the New Yorker, Rolling Stone, and Time, and his stories have appeared in the Best American Nonrequired Reading series. Motherless Brooklyn author Jonathan Lethem describes Shortcomings as “deceptively relaxed and [as] perfect as a comic book gets.”
