Called the Latin Emeril by one food critic for his wide smile and educational approach to food, 34-year-old Chef Jose Garces is a two-time nominee for the Best Chef: Mid-Atlantic Award from the James Beard Foundation. An ambassador of contemporary Latin cuisine, Chef Garces has been featured in the New York Times, Esquire, Bon Appetit, and Food & Wine, and his three Philadelphia restaurants: Amada, Tinto, and Distrito, are consistently among the most sought after reservations in Philadelphia.
