Marcella Hazan | Amarcord: Marcella Remembers
Amarcord, the memoir of celebrated chef Marcella Hazan, "is as delicious as her food," writes Frances Mayes. The godmother of Italian cooking in the United States, Hazan's standard-setting cookbooks include Marcella Cucina and Essentials of Classic Italian Cooking, which food critic Jeffrey Steingarten remarked was destined to "become the essential Italian cookbook for an entire generation." Emphasizing careful attention to detail, she eschews machines in favor of preparing food by hand, arguing that it brings the chef closer to his or her dish. Her husband, food and wine-writer Victor Hazan, will accompany Marcella on stage. The Hazans will be interviewed on-stage by Patricia Talorico of the Delaware News Journal.
