Marilynne Robinson is the author of Housekeeping, a modern classic and winner of the PEN/Hemingway Award. A teacher at the Iowa Writer’s Workshop, Robinson has also authored two books of nonfiction, Mother Country and The Death of Adam. Her new novel, Gilead, published twenty-four years after Housekeeping, arrived to rapturous critical acclaim in 2004, becoming a national bestseller and winning the National Book Critics Circle Award and the Pulitzer Prize.
