Cindy Sheehan’s son, Casey, was killed while serving in Iraq on April 4, 2004. In August 2005, she organized a peace vigil outside President George W. Bush’s ranch in Crawford, Texas. “Camp Casey” attracted major media coverage and sparked nationwide debate over the war in Iraq. A lightning rod for the anti-war movement and a polarizing figure for military families, Sheehan tells her own story in her new memoir Peace Mom.
