Mario Livio is a professor in the Department of Physics and Astronomy of Johns Hopkins University and an astronomer at the Hubble Space Telescope Science Institute, where his research interests include theoretical astrophysics, neutron stars, and planetary nebulae. His passion for the aesthetic of science is evident in his previous books The Accelerating Universe and The Golden Ratio.
