Joel Grey | Master of Ceremonies
Actor, singer, and dancer Joel Grey has won Oscar, Tony, and Golden Globe Awards for a wide range of stage and screen roles. In a career that dates back to the 1940s, he originated the roles of Master of Ceremonies in Cabaret, George M. Cohan in George M!, and the Wizard of Oz in Wicked, among myriad other quintessential Broadway credits. On the big and small screens Grey has played a devil on the last episode of Dallas, an elderly Korean martial arts master, a Muppets Show guest star, a Law and Order: SVU villain, the Ghost of Christmas Past, and dozens of other characters whose only similarity is the humanity and depth with which he portrays them. His new memoir tells the story of an extraordinary performative life and the man behind the makeup. Willkommen, bienvenue, welcome, Joel Grey.
