John Kerry has led the fight to protect the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge, passed legislation protecting our oceans, fisheries, and air, and has been an outspoken advocate for fuel efficiency. Kerry also participated in the first Earth Day in 1970, and met the future Teresa Heinz Kerry at Earth Day 1990. Teresa, now chairwoman of The Heinz Endowments and the Heinz Family Philanthropies, was heralded by the Utne Reader in 1995 as one of 100 American visionaries because of her environmental work. In This Moment on Earth these two leading environmental activists introduce Americans who are leading the green revolution.
