For nearly two decades he was a foreign correspondent in some of the world’s most dangerous and impoverished places (including ones in America), earning wide acclaim for his eloquent and informative stories about the international war on terror, income inequality, and a host of other issues. A senior fellow at The Nation Institute in New York, Hedges currently writes a weekly column for Truthdig. His new book investigates the psychological and social factors that foment resistance against monolithic institutions.
