Michael Eric Dyson is an ordained Baptist minister, and the Avalon Foundation Professor in the Humanities at the University of Pennsylvania. His book Is Bill Cosby Right? was a national bestseller and winner of a NAACP Image Award for Outstanding Literary Work. His latest work, Know What I Mean? confronts critical issues in hip hop including, gender relations, the creative expression of youth, and the political and intellectual engagement of some of the form’s most influential figures.
