Thomas Keneally | The Daughters of Mars
A craftsman of “suspense, searing particulars, and deep emotion” (The Guardian), Thomas Keneally has published more than 25 novels, a dozen screenplays, and several works of nonfiction. He is perhaps most famous for Schindler’s List (of which he spoke at the very first Free Library Author Event nearly 20 years ago), winner of the Booker Prize and the basis for Stephen Spielberg’s film. His many honors include The Critics Circle Award and the Los Angeles Times Prize for Fiction, and he was made an Officer of the Order of Australia. Called “the best novel of Keneally’s career” (The Spectator), his new book The Daughters of Mars tells the story of two spirited sisters who find transcendence and triumph amidst the carnage of World War I.
