Cover image of a publicity leaflet for The Schmidt Quartet. The string quartet was founded in 1915 by members of the Philadelphia Orchestra, and according to information in the pamphlet, the group continued at least beyond 1923. As suggested by the press notice exerpts quoted in the pamphlet, the Schmidt Quartet enjoyed great praise and popularity during its existence. Given the years of the Evening Ledger's existence (1914-1942), it seems most likely that this pamphlet was published in the mid-to-late1930s. Printed leaflet, 15.5 x 23 cm, c. 1930s.
