Photographic portrait of Alfred Lorenz (1879-1943), a violinist/violist for the Philadelphia Orchestra from 1901 until his death in 1943.  He was made one of the principal violinists in 1917, and assistant concertmaster in 1938.  He was concertmaster for the orchestra's first summer season (1930) at the Robin Hood Dell in Fairmount Park, and into the 1930s.  Photographic print, 20.25 x 25.25 cm, c. 1935.
