Christian Baptismal Wish. You are, o dear child, baptized in Christ’s death, who has bought you from hell with his blood. As a reminder and constant memorial, I wanted to give this to you after your baptism. Grow up in God’s honor, and to the joy of your parents, and the good of your neighbor and your salvation. Eva Eissenhaerin gebohren 1773, the 28th of July, baptized by pastor Mihsler. Sponsors Carll Schaeff and his wife Eva. Born in Bethel Township, Lancaster County, in the province Pennsylvania in America.

Hand-drawn; hand-colored; hand-lettered. The text within a rectangular frame is in the center of the document, flanked by two people. On the left is a woman wearing a gown and bonnet, and on the right is a man wearing a red coat, knee breeches, and a tricorn hat. The man is holding two objects, possibly wine glasses or musical instruments. The entire document is enclosed by a decorative border. An inscription on the reverse contains genealogical information.
