Translation:

This valuable Bible book was bought for me, Catharina Schäffer, from my father Henrich Schäffer in Schaefferstown, Heidelberg Township, Dauphin County, state of Pennsylvania, in the year of the Lord one thousand seven hundred and ninety eight.

Hand-drawn; hand-colored; hand-lettered. The main text in Fraktur is in the center of the document. Additional text in Fraktur is in a wreath below the text, and in a wreath above it. The upper wreath is decorated with two ribbons as well as a garland of flowers. The wreath is suspended from a decorative border with a vase with flowers. This bookplate is in Biblia (Basel, Switzerland: Verlag Emanuel Thurneysen, 1778).  (PA GER Basel 1778 B471 Oversize)
