Baptismal Certificate.
Helehna Henklin was born on the 23rd of June after the birth of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ 1801. Her married father was Sahlemon Henkel and her mother was Rebeka Henkelin, born Müllerin. She was brought to the holy baptism on the 29th of June 1801 from the spiritual preacher Paulus Henkel. Her sponsors were her father and mother. May God the Almighty give her the grace of heaven and salvation and blessing. Amen.

Notes:

Hand-drawn; hand-colored; hand-lettered. The text in Fraktur and German script within a frame is in the lower center of the document. The frame is surrounded by leafy vines of flowers and fruit, including tulips. On the sides are two inward facing parrots.  Solomon Henkel, the child's father, was a renowned printer in New Market, Virginia.  His father Paul Henkel, who conducted the baptism, was a Lutheran minister.
