On the 2 day of march in the year of our Lord 1850 a \ Son was born to these two Parents Levi Rahrer and \ Anna his wife a Daughter of Fredrich Herrold this child \ was born in Chapman township in the County of union and State \ of Pennsylvania and was baptised by Parson G. A. Erlenmeier and \ received the name John Henry in the year of our Lord 1850 wit= \ ness present to the holy act of baptism John Herrold and \ his wife Christhina. An inward baptism of pure fire, where with to be baptized \ I have, this all my longing soules desire this only this my Soul can Save \ Straitened I am till this be done, Kindle in me the \ living flame father in me reveal thy Son \ baptize me in Jesus name.

Hand-drawn; hand-colored; hand-lettered. The text in Roman print and script within a heart is in the center of the document. Above it are circle made of hearts and leafy plants. On each side is a leafy stem with several flowers, including tulips. Tow birds are perched on them. In the lower right is a female figure holding a wreath with a bird on it. In the lower center are a parrot and a peacock. A flower is between them.
