Translation:

This New Testament belongs to me, Jacob Lethermann, of Bedminster, Bucks County, written the 9th of November 1871.
O Savior, best friend of children, have mercy on the youth, directed by you, with you united, they are alone on the way to virtue. Rule over their young hearts, so that they do not waste their youth. Grant that they early here in the time [continued on right] seek you, Jesus, at all times. And may your word, which you give them, lead them to eternal life, and we with them, forever, rest in glory.
