Translation:

One thing is needful. Mary has chosen the good part. This shall not be taken from her. In the Evangelist Luke 10:[42].
Mary, the mother of our Savior, who from all of those of her sex was blessed, chosen by God, virgin, found mercy with God. Her quiet, chaste and holy conduct, her praise of God and her prayer, cannot only serve others as a model, but she also with it gives a beautiful example how one shall hear and believe God’s Word, what she heard the kept and pondered it diligently. Blessed are those who hear and keep God’s Word. Written the 22nd day of October in the year of our Lord Jesus Christ, Anno Domini 1805.

Flee from sin, love virtue; make the beginning in youth, continue and do not give up until you come to your grave. Then the Highest will give you in the world a peaceful life and he will lead you after this suffering to the joys of Heaven. 1805.
