Notes: Unique even within the distinguished Ford Thunderbird family is this special sports roadster that has been added to the Thunderbird line for 1962. The new roadster is easily transformed from a four-passenger car to a sporty two-seater by placing a tonneau cover over the entire rear portion of the passenger compartment. Along with a new Landau hardtop model and the standard hardtop and convertible models, the roadster increases to four the number of Thunderbirds offered for 1962. The new Thunderbird combines the best features of the classically styled 1961 Thunderbird and the earlier two-passenger model. The new model's special features include head rests, spoke wheels and an assist bar for passenger convenience.
