Transcription: The whalers of Nantucket were a tough lot. Some of them stomped about on wooden legs. Many bore the scars of battles with whales and pirates. of them all, Captain Ichabod Paddock was the toughest. His crew jumped when he shouted. Even the bos'n, who wore a black patch over one eye and a gold ring in one ear, shook with fear when Ichabod roared an order. On Captain Paddock's ship, his word was law.
