Notes: Marginal decoration showing the Parable of the Lost Sheep
Notes: This cutting of an area of marginal decoration contains a scene from Christ's Parable of the Lost Sheep that is told in the Gospels of Matthew (18:12-14) and Luke (15:4-7). Christ speaks of a shepherd who leaves his flock to find one lost lamb. When he finds his lost charge, he puts the lamb on his shoulder and returns home to call together his friends and family, saying "Rejoice with me, because I have found my sheep that was lost!" His proclamation is written in Latin on the scroll held by the shepherd depicted in the cutting, "Congratulamini mihi quia inveni ovem quam perdideram."
