Notes:
Depicts the interior of the Farmers' Market house on Market Street below Twelfth. This was the largest of all the market houses built to replace the sheds which had stood in the middle of the streets. Shows crowds of shoppers filling the aisles between the rows of stalls which ran the length of this immense hall. The market was the predecessor of the well-known Terminal Market in the Reading Railroad Terminal, which now occupies this site.
