Notes: This page begins a manual for the practice of confession, in which a Christian penitent confesses his or her sins to a member of the clergy. The priest then determines the type and amount of penance that the devotee must do to atone for the sin committed. This manual was written by Antoninus Florentinus (1389-1459), a Dominican friar who became the Archbishop of Florence in 1446.
