Notes: Clement V served as Pope from 1305 until 1314 and was the first Pope to reside in Avignon, after moving the Curia there from Rome in 1309. His Constitutions comprise his decretals (papal letters that bear on canon law) and those of several of his predecessors. This compilation, along with five others, formed the main body of ecclesiastical law for the Catholic Church until the early twentieth century. Soon after it was disseminated, the Constitutions acquired a number of commentaries. The one in this manuscript, which is written in a smaller script around the main text, is that of Johannes Andraea, completed in 1322.
