Notes:
An engraving on wood showing people seated around a well-laid dining table being watched over by servants. The dining room is grandly furnished and decorated. A large chandelier hangs from a richly molded ceiling. The guests are seated around a long dining table decorated with a low hanging tablecloth. Silverware, a candelabra and a decorated wine cooler adorn the table. The occasion was a reception of General Grant in Philadelphia given by Mr. George W. Childs. The General is shown in the foreground with his back to the viewer.
