Title: Bhima Slays Archers Led by Duryodhana
Additional Title: Razmnama (Book of War)
Media Type:
Manuscripts
Source: Rare Book Department
Notes:
This is the last of the battle scenes among the Free Library’s Razmnama pages. It depicts mace-wielding Bhima slaying a group of archers led by the Kaurava prince Duryodhana, chief adversary of the Pandavas. Although the text says that there are twenty-five thousand archers, the artist chose to represent the great number through a single pile of bodies that Bhima nonchalantly crushes with a single blow of his huge mace.
