Dear Sir,
My step-mother being much engaged today, has requested me to acknowledge the receipt of your polite letter of this morning, & to say that she is sorry she has no letters of Robert Browning to supply you with, as although she was well acquainted with some members of the Poet’s family, many years ago, no correspondence took place between them. And now allow me to thank you, on my own account, for so promptly forwarding the £- for the Charles Dickens letter I sent you. I am glad it supplied a reference you required, though it is not flattering to me, personally, as a criticism. With our united compliments, believe me,
  Yours faithfully,
  Ann Kolle
C. Fendelow Esq.
