Notes:
Adding Snap to 1983 Cavalier Models...like the wagon (above) is Chevrolet's new high-compression, high-torque 2.0-liter fuel-injected four-cylinder engine. Combined with more aggressive throttle links and transaxle ratios, the engine delivers snappy acceleration to compliment Cavalier's already renowned road manners. Drawing shows path of fuel mixture. New swirl-port cylinder head allows greater mixture velocity, faster burn, and provides for a higher (9.3:1) compression ratio and a 10 percent increase in torque. The low-pressure electronic fuel injection system incorporates throttle-body injectors. STandard on all 1983 VCavaliers, the engine may be coupled with either four or five-speed manuals or a three-speed automatic transmission. Chevrolet produces the engine in Flint, MI.
