 Improvin on a Masterpiece... is the only way to descrive the 1987 Chevrolet Corvette, America's fastest production vehicle that continues its "World Class" status by adding new features and options to improve performance, appearance, convenience and reliability. Along with the Corvette coupe (shown here), the Corvette roadster, added midway through the 1986 model year as teh pace car for the Indy 500, continues the Corvette tradition. A key change to the powerful 5.7 liter Tuned Port Injeciton (TPI) V8 engine for '87 is the addition of anti-friction, roller-hydraulic lifters that are worth about a 3 percent fuel economy boost.
