Detroit--The rear styling of the 1972 Cadillac is highlighted by a refined bumper with an optional rubber impact strip across the width of the bumper bar face as in this Coupe De Ville. The vertical tail lamps contain the stoplight, directional signal and taillight. The "V"emblem returns to the rear deck lid on De Ville and Calais series and there is a winged crest embossed on the lens of the tail lamp. The rear deck louvers from 1971 are eliminated as the "flow through" ventilation system now uses vents in the body lock pillar. The graceful side view features a strong design line from the top of the front fender blendinginto the tubular sculpture of the body and sweeping to the rear.
