Notes: This initial begins the Introit for the feast of Epiphany (Jan. 6), "Ecce aduenit dominator dominus ..." (Behold the Lord the Ruler is come). It was illuminated by a follower of Duccio di Buoninsegena (ca. 1255 -1319). Duccio, as he is commonly known, is considered to be the founder of Renaissance painting in Siena.
