View showing the ornately trimmed cottage house of railroad agent William H. Gatzmer. In the front lawn, a girl and a boy play hoop near a hobby horse. Vessels travel on the Delaware River in the background. The Tacony neighborhood formed in 1846, when Gatzmer secured a charter for the Philadelphia and Trenton Railroad and the riverfront area was used as a railroad terminus. In 1867, Gatzmer became president of the Camden & Amboy Railroad.
