Notes:
Image taken by Philadelphia Evening Bulletin photographer Charles T. Higgins. Notes on the negative's envelope read: "N.D. [car dealership, fire damage]"
The building in the foreground was a car dealership, located on Broad Street, between Rodman & Lombard Streets. The date of this photograph is unknown, but the fire hose and the ice covering the building suggest that a fire occurred at the dealership, during a very cold day.
Although most of the buildings in this photograph have been demolished, the one in the distance, to the right, was originally the South Philadelphia National Bank, at the corner of Broad & South Streets. Since 1995, it is the Philadelphia Arts Bank, one of the University of the Arts theaters.
