This collection contains a book, color separations, dummies, illustrations, sketches, and text layouts by the children's book illustrator Aliki. Five books are represented: Averages, Birds at Night, My Five Senses, The Story of William Penn, and This is the House Where Jack Lives. Two of the books, My Five Senses and The Story of William Penn, were also written by Aliki.
For four of the titles, the complete sets of final art and color separations are present ( The Story of William Penn includes much, but not all, of the final art). Additionally, there are dummies with detailed illustrations for Birds at Night and My Five Senses, and preliminary sketches and designs for various titles. Some of the front matter and jacket copy for Aliki's books is included, as well as the first published edition of This Is the House Where Jack Lives, but the bulk of the collection is Aliki's illustrations.
This collection is arranged in five series alphabetically by title: I. Averages; II. Birds at Night; III. My Five Sense; IV. The Story of William Penn; V. This Is the House Where Jack Lives. Within each series, materials are arranged in probable order of creation.
