Free First Saturday Percussion Workshops Featuring Karen Smith
Music Department at Parkway Central Library
Back by immense popular demand - the Free Library's Music Department presents another series of percussion and drum workshops every first Saturday of the month from September to January! The series opens Sept 7 and features Malik Henry, and continues every first Saturday of the Month, featuring Latin Percussion with Jose Claudio on November 2nd!
Programs will start at 2:00 PM. Musicians at any skill level are welcome and encouraged to participate.
Karen Smith is lead percussionist and artistic director for Weez the Peeples Collective & Sistahs Laying Down Hands. Her play Where are the Tubmans? premiered at Rowan University in March 2018.
