The Legacy Lab initiative celebrates America's 250th anniversary in 2026 by empowering Black community members to research, document, and share their unique family histories. House of Zamani will lead us in developing genealogical research skills over this six-month program series. Registration is encouraged but not required.
This Month: Unearthing Records Beyond the Census
Join us for a deep dive into various record types crucial for Black genealogy, including Freedmen's Bureau records, slave schedules, plantation records, church records, vital records, military records, and historical newspapers.

House of Zamani is led by Pearl's Girl Productions. Pearl's Girl Productions is a Philly film, digital and new media production company that produces and presents motion pictures that explore the infinite lives of Black people.
