Join our new Black Genealogy Club and learn to research your heritage!

The Legacy Lab initiative celebrates America's 250th anniversary in 2026 by empowering Black community members to research, document, and share their unique family histories. House of Zamani will lead us in developing genealogical research skills over this six-month program series. Registration is encouraged but not required.

This Month: Laying the Foundations

We kick off the club with an introduction to genealogy, key terms, ethical considerations in Black genealogical research, and an overview of available resources—with emphasis on the importance of oral histories and family stories.

House of Zamani is led by Pearl's Girl Productions. Pearl's Girl Productions is a Philly film, digital and new media production company that produces and presents motion pictures that explore the infinite lives of Black people.
