Garlic From Around the World
Northeast Regional Library
Garlic is a staple ingredient in culinary traditions all over the world. In this workshop, we'll learn the basics of planting, growing, harvesting, curing, and cleaning garlic to use in cooking and recipes. We'll get hands-on experience with the process by planting garlic varieties from different regions of the world. At the end of the workshop, you'll have the knowledge to grow your own organic garlic at home. This workshop will take place outside. Dress appropriately. In the case of poor weather, we will move inside. If you have your own seed garlic like to share, please bring it along!
We will be planting garlic during the workshop. Join us for this live demonstration!
This event is a collaboration between the Northeast Regional Library and the Philadelphia Master Gardener Program. Master Gardeners Volunteers educate home gardeners and the community on best practices in sustainable horticulture and environmental stewardship. The Master Gardener Program is an outreach program of Penn State Extension.
The Northeast Regional Library Garden is a space to share in the many healthy, fun, social, and communal benefits of gardening. Be on the lookout for more events next year!
