Vinyl Record Listening Club & WRTI present: Sonny Rollins at 95
Music Department at Parkway Central Library
Vinyl Record Listening Club >> New name announced 8/28!
Vinyl Record Listening Club meets on last Wednesdays of the month, in the Music Department, from 5:30-7:30 p.m. You can both bring your own records from home, or we can have a librarian-led listening journey through the library's vinyl collection. You are responsible for your own vinyl. This club is typically for adult patrons (18+), but all ages are welcome to this special program.
This meeting of Vinyl Record Listening Club is a little different, we're officially partnering up with WRTI to bring you some special programming!

WRTI is hosting a Sonny Rollins Weekend to celebrate his 95th birthday (9/7/25) from September 4-8th. Special programming starts with Evening Jazz at 6pm on Thursday, September 4th and concludes with Jazz Through the Night at 6am on Monday, September 8th. Most shows on WRTI are participating- you can expect between 2-3 Sonny Rollins songs every hour!
For our September meeting of Vinyl Record Listening Club, we're doing a deep dive on Sonny Rollins. We have a guest co-host: Julian Booker (he/him) of WRTI's The Get Down program. Julian will spin vinyl in the library collection from 5:30-6:30PM, then we'll be rolling with member selections from 6:30-7:30! BYO is welcome if you have any Rollins vinyl, but you can also choose from our selection of library albums. Please help us know how many people to expect! RSVP at our Eventbrite!
Please sign up for our club email list to get meeting reminders, information about music themes, to sign up to bring an album using our sign up sheet, or rescheduling/cancelation notices!
We're so excited to spin vinyl with you!
