Dance Class: Cuban Rueda de Casino with Philly P'Arriba
Music Department at Parkway Central Library
Rueda de Casino is a high energy dance, similar to salsa, but danced in a circle with rotating partners. Attend solo or bring friends! New and experienced dancers are all welcome - this free, pop-up class is a lot of fun and a great community builder!
Instructor:
Lana Corrales has danced, performed and taught Latin dance since she fell in love with it over 25 years ago. She has been on dance teams for Salsambo (Atlanta), LA Salsa (Guatemela), Promenade (Costa Rica), Flacos Dance Factory and Sandungo Tropical (Philadelphia). She taught life skills through dance for teens, Spanish through movement for kids, and wheelchair dance classes. She currently performs with Treintaytres Delaware, and teaches Rueda de Casino with her own group, Philly P'Arriba.
Lana is also a musician, songwriter and poet. Her mission and passion is to create joy, community and connection through dance and movement.
