News Matters (2021) is a documentary directed by Brian Malone that chronicles the efforts of a group of local newsroom staff in Colorado as they battle to save The Denver Post after its acquisition by global venture capitalists. Despite the newspaper's continued profitability, the newsroom endured significant layoffs and resignations leading to a diminishing ability to produce quality local news.
