Tiny Treasure Artist Book with Rebecca Kelly
Art Department at Parkway Central Library
Inspired by the work of outsider artist Nellie Mae Roe and other self-taught artists we will explore a free, fresh approach to a miniature artist book! Using a simple one page book structure with multiple panels, participants will create miniature books and embellish the cover with tiny found objects, beads, fabric and paper scraps. We will add words and images using poetry and drawing prompts.
All materials and tools will be supplied, but you are welcome to bring any of your own tools and supplies such as beads and ribbons or other tiny treasures you'd like to add to your book.
Due to the popularity of these free classes we are unable to admit everyone who wishes to participate. In order to expand access we will randomize final selection of participants instead of first sign-up, first admitted. To sign up, fill out this Google form.
Every Month from February to June, the Art Department partners with the Philadelphia Center for the Book to offer free book arts workshops. For questions, please contact the Art Department at 215-686-5403 or by emailing erefart@freelibrary.org.
