More Than a Pretty Face: Masks of West and Central Africa

More Than a Pretty Face is a colorful exhibit of unique African masks from the collection of Mary Sue and Paul Peter Rosen, M.D. Mounted in Parkway Central Library’s West Gallery, the exhibition displays more than 100 dramatic masks from 40 West and Central African peoples, including rare, colorful examples of Temne Ode-lay and Jolly Society headdress masks from Sierra Leone and Ibibio Mami Wata face masks from Nigeria.
