Virtual Book Club for English Language Learners - Intermediate & Advanced
Virtual
Please join us for a series of meetings on Zoom to talk about the book Taking Flight: From War Orphan to Star Ballerina by Michaela and Elaine DePrince. This memoir tells the fascinating story of a child from Sierra Leone who was adopted by an American couple at the age of four, and went on to become a professional dancer. It was published on January 19, 2016.
We will meet every other Friday morning to read excerpts and talk about topics related to the memoir. The title is available for purchase on Amazon and possibly from your local public library. Although participants will ideally read the book in its entirety, you are welcome to participate even if you don’t read the book or don’t finish it. This class is appropriate for intermediate and advanced English students. This class is hosted by the Tacony Library.
