By Administrator RSS Mon, May 20, 2024

The Free Library is excited to announce the addition of video games to its vast catalog of borrowable materials!

Why video games at the library, you ask? Well, stories aren't confined to books alone! Video games present immersive worlds where players become the protagonists of their own adventures. From unraveling intricate narratives to solving complex puzzles, video games offer a unique form of interactive storytelling that engages the mind and imagination.

Here's more information on what patrons can expect:

Video games and literacy share a symbiotic relationship. Through character development, immersive world-building, and complex narratives, gaming can help foster literacy skills by engaging players in critical thinking, problem-solving, and comprehension skills. Literacy comes in many forms, including the digital world!

Visit your local library and explore the video game collection for new adventures!

You don't have good book budgets, yet you have money for video games. This is another example of dumbing down Philadelphia readership. Skewed priorities.

@Mauricio, no. The consoles are not available. It's pretty much just like DVD/Blu-ray/VHS/CD borrowing-- Bring Your Own Player.
