Summer is here, and we know you’re ready for some fun! Whether you’re looking for outdoor, in-person programs or virtual adventures, the Free Library’s Summer of Wonder has got you covered.
Last summer, we learned how to keep cool without AC and to make DIY ice cream! Read on to find out what’s in store for this year’s hottest and coolest months of July and August.
In the Great Outdoors
Join us for in-person children's events and activities in your neighborhood like Read, Baby, Read Music and Movement Mondays, our six-week clay and early literacy program Clay, Play, Read! from The Clay Studio, the Bird Lover’s Club, Doggy Storytimes, and Cinema in the Grass. Teens can meet up and socialize with peers at events like the Outdoor Sexuality and Gender Acceptance (SAGA) Club, the EmPOWERment Program, and teen-focused Reading Lounges.
Get Virtual
If you can't make it to our in-person programming, you and your family can participate in events and activities virtually like Summer Sprints, Mindfulness Activities, and Story Clubs. Teens can drop in on the Reading Lounge, as well as particpate in the Dr. W.E.B. Du Bois art and poetry focused "I Am the Smoke-King" series.
Visit the Free Library events calendar for program listings throughout the year. Check out the Summer of Wonder page to learn more.
